Our five piece rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1999 and after playing the Sunset Strip clubs and self producing EPs for a couple of years, we made our self titled major label debut and hit the road. We travelled all over the U.S., the U.K. and even made it as far as Japan. We toured with Weezer, The Strokes, Sloan, The Sounds, The Donnas, Travis, Keane and many others.

After our first record reached nearly gold status and yielded two successful singles, we retreated to L.A. where, after many hold ups, we recorded "Calling the World" over three weeks time. We then toured the world for another year and half with an eclectic bunch of artists including Ben Lee and The Polyphonic Spree. Our first single off the record climbed to number 1 in Germany and subsequently took us all over Europe multiple times.

2009 found us back in L.A. recording and experimenting in our new home studios while transitioning into a new label situation. We formed our own record label "California Dreamin'" and released our "Wild One" e.p. at the end of 2009 and our 3rd full length release "Eureka!" in June of 2010. Since then, we've enjoyed touring with The Crash Kings, The Young Veins, Black Gold, Hanson, and Eisley. We are currently enjoying our return to the independent spirit upon which we were founded and are looking back at a career which now spans over a decade. Thank you to all of our friends and fans who have taken the trip with us...we play for you.

Since the band’s beginnings just over four years ago, their rise has been steadily spectacular, marked by appearances on national television, sold-out shows at historic venues, tours with rock and roll royalty and heaps of praise from fans and critics alike. As they blossomed, they embraced their initially folk-driven sound, which found its harmonic home alongside rootsy, foot stomping, sing-along-leading peers like Mumford & Sons, The Head and the Heart, and Of Monsters and Men. Powered by the acoustic-guitar-and-vocals songwriting of frontman Alex Hwang, their 2014 self-titled debut record, produced by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Modest Mouse, Band of Horses), was released with their lineup rounded out by the strings duo of Daniel Chae and Jennifer Rim, Joe Chun on bass, Sally Kang on keys, and John Chong on drums.

Alligator Years expands upon the charming surfy haze of Twinsmith's 2013 eponymous album and "Honestly" single, with the band pushing themselves musically while moving toward a more dynamic pop sound. Each diverse track is imbued with an individual voice and style, and ranges from propulsive, melodic rock ("Seventeen") to buoyantly playful pop ("Alligator Years") from soaring, sing-along retro pop ("Is It Me") to sumptuous, evocative new wave ("Constant Love"); from shimmery, summery pop ("Said and Done", "Haunts") to moody, slowburning ballads ("Dust", "Carry On"). There's a youthful sense of longing and exploration that permeates the album, which reflects on the highs and lows, advantages and disadvantages, hopes and fears of 20-something life with crafty, unassuming depth. Not just any band can examine anxiety, uncertainty, and commitment through tales of homicidal girlfriends and zombie apocalypses with such aplomb.

Written throughout 2014, Alligator Years was recorded in Omaha, NE and Des Moines, IA, with the production team of The Envy Corps' Luke Pettipoole and Brandon Darner, who's also worked with Imagine Dragons, as well as Micah Natera.

Twinsmith is: Jordan Smith (vocals, guitar), Oliver Morgan (drums), Matt Regner (guitar, synths), and Bill Sharp (bass).
