“Buttonpush” returns just in time for spring with a contentious fourth installment. Kansas City, MO | FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Since returning in 2016, “Buttonpush” has established itself as fresh blood in a thriving local beat scene.

Tax Day – Saturday, April 15 – marks its fourth installment at the sister venue of its regular location miniBar. This event will take place at the re-opened recordBar (1520 Grand Blvd.) in Kansas City’s Crossroads. This trip will feature a 16-producer, head-to- head, single-elimination beat battle. The competition will be comprised of four rounds judged by an esteemed panel hand-selected by host and founder of Buttonpush d’Jawnz. Competing producers will be required to pay a non-refundable $25 registration fee (due one week prior on April 8 th ). The winning producer will win $300, the runner-up will receive $100, and the third place
producer will earn a featured spot at the next Buttonpush showcase. Admission for this show is $7 for all patrons
aged 18 or older. Doors will open at 9:30pm and the tournament will begin promptly at 10:30pm.

Buttonpush will rediscover its original, battle roots when it returns for the fourth time in April. Battle competitions have become one of the most energetic new elements of Hip Hop culture. Recently mega-producers Just Blaze and Swizz Beatz competed against one another in a live event hosted on Instagram. Tens of thousands of viewers poured in to watch the two-hour affair. Over the past decade major imprints like Red Bull’s “Big Tune” and iStandard’s nationwide tours have also tapped into the competitive lane of music production. Buttonpush aims to bring that love of competition, in the production arena, back to Kansas City this spring.

Reach has always prided himself on creating new avenues to showcase local artists. “Buttonpush” has been re-invented over the past year to reclaim its spot amidst a vibrant beat community. This series intends to display the depth and breadth of the area’s production talent. Showcases of this ilk often pigeonhole themselves to one specific sub-genre, but Reach aims to buck that trend. This next turn in the series will span a wide variety of sub-genres within Hip Hop’s broad spectrum. Producers are taking center stage in Kansas City and “Buttonpush” has its sights
set on helping them stay there for the foreseeable future.
